The Ultimate Sizing Guide

Because Every Dog Deserves the Perfect Fit.

Finding Their Perfect Fit

Big dogs, little dogs, sleepy stretchers and professional curl-up artists — every dog deserves a space that fits just right.

Choosing the right size for your furry family member is one of the most important steps when selecting their new Paws & Willow furniture.

Whether you're shopping for a luxury wooden dog crate, an open-front retreat or a beautifully crafted dog bed, we're here to help you find the perfect balance of comfort, space and style.

Our furniture is designed to look beautiful in your home, but most importantly, it needs to feel like home to them.

 How to Measure Your Dog

Before choosing your Paws & Willow product, we recommend taking a few simple measurements.

1. Measure Their Length

With your dog standing naturally, measure from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail.

This helps determine how much room they'll need to lie down comfortably.

2. Measure Their Height

With your dog standing upright, measure from the floor to the top of their head, including their ears if they naturally stand upright.

This helps ensure they have enough headroom when standing inside their crate.

Understanding Our Product Dimensions

Every Paws & Willow product has its own dimensions, carefully designed to balance your dog's comfort with practical furniture styling.

Our product dimensions are generally displayed as:

Width (W) × Depth (D) × Height (H)

  • Width: The measurement across the front of the furniture.
  • Depth: The measurement from front to back.
  • Height: The measurement from the floor to the highest point of the furniture.

Please note that external dimensions include the timber frame, top and base. The usable internal space will be smaller.

Where available, refer to the individual product's internal measurements when assessing suitability for your dog.

Finding the Right Crate for Your Dog's Size

Every dog is different, and finding the right fit is about more than just their breed.

Our Paws & Willow sizing comparisons help you visualise how different dog breeds measure up against our furniture-style crates, making it easier to choose a comfortable space for your furry family member.

While breed silhouettes provide a helpful visual guide, dogs of the same breed can vary considerably in height, length and build. For the best fit, we recommend measuring your dog and comparing their measurements with the internal dimensions of your chosen crate.

Your dog should have enough room to stand comfortably, turn around naturally and lie down in their favourite sleeping position. Remember, a crate should feel like their own little retreat — never cramped or restrictive.
